Theunis and Linde

I had the opportunity to take some pictures to this beautiful couple Theunis and Linde for their engagement photo shoot at Holden Manz Wine Farm in the valley of Franschhoek  surrounded by vineyards and plum orchards, with a spectacular mountain backdrop, breath-taking views of the undulating countryside and an atmosphere of complete tranquility.

It was a surprise for Linde of course she was not aware of what Theunis had in mind and she didn’t know about the photographer taking pictures of this special moment! I was hiding in the picnic area of Holden Manz Wine Farm.

Arriving at our Franschhoek Kitchen Theunis and Linde collected their picnic baskets and after a short saunter through the vineyards the arrived at the gurgling river where all you hear are the birds singing and the sunlight melts the day into enchanting flavours and beautiful moments…

Franschhoek Uncorked 2016

Franschhoek Uncorked 2016

Franschhoek Uncorked 2016 at Boekenhoutskloof Wine Farm
Lot of fun lot of wine what else? The Chocolate Block
The quest to understand the name of this wine and the wine itself is now the stuff of legend – it’s even launched a graphic novel (see here). While we are not about to reveal all, we can say that the style of the wine is a reflection of our belief that the Cape, with its Mediterranean climate, is eminently suited to blended reds. The make-up of this wine is tweaked from vintage to vintage to best reflect the season and the ancient vines of great character that are an integral part of the wine’s charm and personality.

Surfing at Muizenberg

Surfing at Muizenberg

Surfing at Muizenberg is a beach-side suburb of Cape TownSouth Africa. It is situated where the shore of the Cape Peninsula curves round to the east on the False Bay coast. It is considered to be the birthplace of surfing in South Africa and is currently home to a surfing community, centered on the popular ‘Surfer’s Corner’. Muizenberg has a fine, long beach that in effect stretches all the way round the top of False Bay to the Strand, a distance of over 20 km. False Bay, known for its population of White Sharks, also has a shark watch service that operates from Muizenberg, signalling alerts when sharks come in proximity of bathers and surfers. Above Muizenberg there is a line of steep cliffs that is very popular as a venue for rock climbing. However, certain parts of the cliff are off-limits to climbers when birds nest on the ledges.
